Serie A Team of the Week: Quagliarella leaves Sampdoria quaking

In a week in which Juventus, Roma, Lazio and Inter were all dropping points, it was left to some of the more under-rated Italian clubs to present an abundance of options for inclusion in the Goal Team of the Week for Serie A in round 21 of the campaign.

AC Milan were one of the few giants to register a win, with Diego Lopez pulling off a couple of key saves with the score tied at 1-1 with Parma before they went on to register a 3-1 triumph...

Elsewhere, Daniele Rugani enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a commanding performance in Empoli's 1-1 draw at Roma, while Ivan Piris was equal to everything Juventus threw at Udinese. Guglielmo Stendardo was impeccable for Atalanta as the Orobici stole a late win over Cagliari.

Torino were the weekend's big winners against Sampdoria, with Bruno Peres once more causing chaos down the flank in the 5-1 victory. Udinese became only the sixth side to take points from Juve thanks largely to Allan's dominance in the midfield battle against Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba. Edgar Barreto led Palermo superbly from the centre of the park as they came from behind to beat Verona, and Diego Perotti was in sparkling form in Genoa's hard-fought draw with Fiorentina.

Inter's attempts at a revival were hit by Sassuolo, for whom Simone Zaza was in fantastic form. The Italy striker scored once and won the late penalty that sealed a 3-1 win. Jeremy Menez was also key to a 3-1 win, netting twice in Milan's victory over Parma, while Fabio Quagliarella went one better to grab a wonderful hat-trick as Torino smashed Sampdoria.
